Pipe under JIS G3456 standard is suitable for high temperature with hollow round section. It is often exposed to high temperature and high pressure conditions when used, so it has high lasting strength, high antioxidant and mechanical properties. For example superheated tube of high pressure and ultra-high pressure boilers, gas-guide tube, main steam pipe are made of high temperature seamless steel pipes.

Grade: STPT 370, STPT410, STPT480

The method of manufacture:

The pipe shall be manufactured from coarse-grained killed steel by the seamless or electric resistance welding process. However, the pipe of grade STPT480 shall be manufactured by the seamless process. The pipes by hot-finished shall be heat treatment as per requirement between purchaser and manufacturer. But the pipes by cold-finished must be heat treated for low temperature annealing or normalizing.

Pipe end and packing:

End type: plain ends, bevel ends, screw thread, grooved. When the purchaser requires, the end of pipe may be beveled with 30°-0°/+5°. Root face shall be 1.6mm +/- 0.8mm. Otherwise, the end of pipe usually are plain.

Ends packing: plastic caps for OD1/8  to 24in, ends protector for larger size.

 

Surface:

1. The pipe shall be practically straight, and its both ends shall be at right angles to the axes.

2. The inside and outside surfaces of the pipe shall be well-finished, and free from detrimental defects to use.

3. The body of pipe can be varnished painting, galvanized, anti-corrosion(3LPE, 3PP......).

Dimensional control of seamless steel pipe:

All dimensions will be supplied according to standard; In addition, the following tolerances apply:

(a) Pipe body: +/- 0,75%

(b) Length: -0 / +100mm

(c) Wall thickness: +15%, -12,5%
